On Thursday, 6 August 2026, 21-year-old Aban Ahmed — the youngest of Atiq Ahmed’s five sons — was killed when the SUV he was travelling in slammed into a road divider in Jhansi district.

Police say the crash happened at around 10:30 am on the Kanpur–Jhansi road, in the Poonch police station area of Jhansi district.
Aban had set out from Prayagraj with four other men in a white Hyundai Creta, registration number UP 70 FW 2432. According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Arvind Kumar, the vehicle was moving at high speed when the driver lost control and hit the divider head-on.
Some reports quote officials saying an animal suddenly came in front of the car and the driver swerved to avoid it. That version is still being checked.

Aban and his friend Sonu, son of Raja, died on the spot. Three others in the car were injured and taken to the government medical college in Jhansi. Police have named them as Azam (28), Mohammad Javed (30) and Mohammad Umar (24), all from Prayagraj — though a few early reports listed slightly different names, and the official record is still being finalised.
Senior Superintendent of Police BBGTS Murthy confirmed two deaths and three injuries. Both bodies were sent for post-mortem.
One of the injured, Umar, spoke to reporters from a stretcher and said the group was heading to a Jhansi jail when the car went out of control.
Police have begun an investigation and say CCTV footage from cameras along the national highway will be examined.

He is expected to be laid to rest at the Kasari Masari graveyard — the same ground where his father Atiq Ahmed, his uncle Ashraf, his brother Asad, and his grandparents are all buried.
The graveyard sits in the family’s ancestral locality in Prayagraj. Over the last three years it has quietly become the final address of nearly everyone this family lost.
Aban’s brother Ahjam, speaking briefly to reporters, made a short request: let their brothers attend the last rites.
Two of Aban’s brothers — Umar and Ali — are in jail in separate cases. Unless a court allows a special escort or temporary release, neither will be able to stand at the grave. Umar has been lodged in Lucknow, and Ali in Jhansi.
